Designed to exacting standards, the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR) is an independent, non-profit center devised to meet the ever-evolving product research, testing and development demands of the automotive industry. State sponsorship and affiliation with North Carolina’s university and community college system offers exceptional opportunities for matching the innovative talents of the world’s automotive industry with the research capacity and business development resources of the State of North Carolina.
The Center's facilities are expertly-designed, private, highly-secure, well-equipped and strategically capable. All facilities may be utilized on a daily, weekly or longer-term basis. Upon completion of Phase 2, features will include:
- 4.6 mile ride and handling course designed to exacting standards,
- 9 acre vehicle dynamics areas with high-speed entry,
- advanced chassis dynamics laboratory,
- 6 client garages with virtual office connectivity,
- two axle chassis dynamometer with climatic air handling and emissions
Strategically planned and equipped, NCCAR is uniquely positioned to meet the demanding research and testing challenges of the automotive industry. Situated mid-point on the US Atlantic coast along Interstate 95, the Center offers easy access and year-round availability. As desired, on-site engineering and technical support services are available to assist testing programs and provide customized solutions.
